Mission Statement: The purposes of this Society shall be to bring together people interested in history, and especially in the history of Bannock County and Eastern Idaho; for a better understanding of our democratic way of life and our development as a territory and state; for preservation of historical objects, documents, photographs, and other items; and for the dissemination of historical information and facts through meetings, programs, and any other means deemed suitable.  

BCHS was founded March 8, 1922!

BCHS is a 501 (c) 3 non profit entity and a non profit corporation in good standing with the State of Idaho.  BCHS is the parent organization of the Museum and is managed by an executive board comprised of 9 volunteers.  Board members must be in good standing with the Society and reside in Bannock County.  The Board provides oversite and support to the BCHS organization and the Museum's staff.  Board members meet on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 5 PM.  General membership in the Society is open to anyone and the monthly business meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of the month (September through May) at 6 PM.  Membership benefits include:
